Theme Scripture: Romans 1:25
There are some things that most everyone has in common. One of those things is our collective desire to celebrate. Granted, what we celebrate and the ways that we choose to celebrate are as varied as the seasons, but the desire to celebrate is a common thread. Today is one of those days where lots of people celebrate. It is Halloween and, believe it or not, it is not only the second most commercialized holiday in America, only being outspent by Christmas, half of all homes in America are decorated for the occasion. What is Halloween anyway? Where did it come from and what is the secret of its popularity? Stay with us as we examine some history, some tradition and the Bible!

Theme Scripture: Psalms 53:1
For people like us, there are a myriad of proofs that we can see all around us that unequivocally prove the existence of God. We see the earth, the heavens, humanity, science and engineering and we nod our heads in the satisfaction that God is indeed behind it all. Yet, there is a world full of those who, based upon their intellect, their expertise and their own study who have concluded that God is merely a figment of some men’s imaginations and a waste of time. So, what do we do with all of this? Can God’s existence be proven? Does God’s existence need to be proven? Are we deluding ourselves with wishful thinking? Is it really a form of mental disease to believe in God? Are there good reasons to be a believer? Stay with us as we face these questions head on as we ask that penetrating question: Does God exist?

Theme Scripture: Isaiah 56:6-7
I think that one of the danger areas as Christians is that of complacency. We can easily get into the frame of mind that says: we know God and Jesus, so it’s all good! Is it? What if you don’t believe in God – does God believe in you? What if you have doubts about God – does God have doubts about you? What if you are absolutely sure that you do not and will not ever need God? Will God ever need you? What if you are Hindu or a Buddhist? Does God have any use for you? What do we think? Are we just happy that we know God? DO we really know God? Are we more important than those others we just mentioned? Does God even need us?

Theme Scripture: Exodus 21:16
If we look back throughout all of the recorded history of mankind, there are a number of themes that seem to continually reoccur. One of those themes is the rulership of some men over others. That theme in many cultures took a downward spiral and over time ended up as one of the greatest travesties in the history of the human race – slavery. Today, we look at such a practice and shake our heads in sorrow and disbelief at the inhumanity with which we have treated one another. In the midst of this, there looms a very important question – the Bible gives us a recorded history of rulership, domination and slavery – the question is; did God or does God EVER sanction slavery - that inhuman treatment of another human being? Stay with us as we look at the Bible and history and search for the answer!

Theme Scripture: Luke 10:29
Do you know who your neighbors are? I am not necessarily asking about the people who live to your left or right, but am more readily referring to the people who live around you – all around you – the people you work with, the people you shop with, the people you go to the gym with, the people you go to church with, the people you pass on the street or in the parking lot – those people - you know, the people you notice and the people you don’t notice. Are they your neighbors? Do you owe them anything – or do they owe you anything? We want to talk about the relationship between being a neighbor, being a Good Samaritan and being a human being. Stay with us as we look into this somewhat well-known Parable of the Good Samaritan with some striking and perhaps not so well-known details! Who is my neighbor? Let’s see if we can find out...
