Theme Scripture: Ephesians 2:19
Life in these United States is dominated by a number of things. Money dominates us. If we have it, things are great; if we don’t, we suffer. Our jobs dominate us. We spend one-third or more of our day working, and for many, that time is spent in a job we don’t even like. Leisure dominates us. We are consumed by entertainment. Status dominates us. We must look good in the eyes of others. Recently, it seems more than ever before, politics dominates us. The parties, the process and the policies are always headline news and seem of late to be shaping our futures at an alarming speed. So, what are we to make of all this? How should a Christian be involved – or – should a Christian be involved in any of this? Stay with us as we delve into a subject we normally avoid – Politics and the Christian – is it a match?

Theme Scripture: Titus 2:12
The world that we live in is tough. It is not only full of challenges to our convictions; it is full of diversions and distractions as well. We are overwhelmed with input, advertisement, chatter, emails, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, sports, entertainment, politics, work, leisure, holidays, events, traffic, weather, style, fashion, home repair, friends, family and life in general that to step away from it all and focus on pure and simple godliness seems almost impossible. Yet, we as Christians are to pursue godliness as a primary objective for our lives! Okay, now what? How do we do that? Stay with us as we examine the secret (well it’s really not so secret, it’s in the book of Titus), this formula for being godly in an ungodly world!

Theme Scripture: Exodus 20:7
In general conversation, we often hear people use the name of Jesus and the name of God in very inappropriate ways. The sad thing is that it is so common we may sometimes not even notice it, or we may dismiss it without a second thought. Are these phrases disrespectful? Yes. Are they unfortunate? Yes. The question is - is this what is meant by taking the Lord’s name in vain or is there more to it? Is taking the Lord’s name in vain an obvious thing, or is it something that can happen in much more subtle ways? Is it possible for those of us who claim to take the name of God seriously to actually take His name in vain? Stay with us as we seek clarity in understanding just what is meant by this commandment to not take His name in vain.

Theme Scripture: Isaiah 53:5
Sometimes, one life makes all the difference. Sometimes, all it takes is a mission, a lofty mission and a calling – a calling to do that which has never been done before and in so doing the mission is accomplished and the world is changed. Such a life was lived some 2,000 years ago. The mission and the calling compelled that life to change the course of humanity forever. It is this life, this mission and this calling that we honor today – Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior who gave his life so we might have life and is now raised to power on high!
