Ep.587: Where Do We Find Christmas?
Celebrating the birth of Jesus
Theme Scripture: Isaiah 9:6
Well, the day has come and gone. We got to once again experience Santa and reindeer, decorated trees and candy canes, presents, food, family, football, music, the trimmings, the trappings, the Grinch. Now that it is all said and done, let’s look back for a few minutes. In our celebration of Christmas, did we really celebrate the truest meaning of the day, or was that put aside? Well, we want to make sure the “reason for the season” was not forgotten – so, sit back, relax, and walk with us as we focus on the Real Christmas!
Ep.586: Who has Your Allegiance?
Defining our truest allegiances
Theme Scripture: Luke 9:57
We all have allegiances to different things at different levels in our lives. Some of our allegiances are deep and sound, while others may only prove to be lip service at best. What about our allegiance to Christ? How deep does it go? How deep should it go? Did Jesus tell us clearly what was to be expected of us, and if so, are we living up to that expectation? Stay with us as we look into three particular lessons that Jesus taught about allegiance and what those lessons ought to mean to us 2,000 years later!
Ep.585: Do People Listen When You Speak?
Examining successful personal communication
Theme Scripture: Philippians 4:13-14
Remember the commercials way back when about E.F. Hutton? The room was crowded with people all carrying on their own individual conversations and the moment one of these people quietly mentions the words E.F. Hutton, the room falls silent. The reason? Well, according to the ad, everyone wants to know what that broker has to say. Essentially, the ad portrays one specific broker with an overwhelming credibility to command respect from everyone. Do people listen to you with interest when you speak? An even better question is, do you listen with interest when others speak? Stay with us as we look into what it takes to speak and be heard, as well as what it takes to listen and comprehend.
