Theme Scripture: John 6:67-68
All of us who claim to be Christians would probably agree that Jesus is the centerpiece of our lives and that following him is our most important task. If we were to leave the conversation there, then it would seem to be a clear and easy conclusion. However, there is so much more to this story! What does it mean to truly follow him? What are “the words of eternal life” to which Simon Peter referred? Are they easy to find? Are they easy to follow? Are they available anywhere else? Stay with us as we look into these words of eternal life and example of Jesus to see if we are truly following him and no one else!

Theme Scripture: Hebrews 12:2
So, what role does shame play in our lives? When is it good to feel shame? When is it bad to feel shame? In the theme text, we are told that because Jesus “despised the shame,” he was accounted as worthy to sit “down at the right hand of the throne of God!” What about us? Do we have to overcome shame today to be with him? Are we subjected to shame today by our neighbors, colleagues, and friends or is shame a thing of the past? Is shame a big deal today for a Christian or is it nothing to worry about especially when you live in a so-called “Christian country?” Stay with us as we look into this not so often talked about part of our lives – shame – the good, the bad and the ugly.

Theme Scripture: Micah 6:8
Our world can be a confusing place. When it comes to defining right and wrong, there are inevitable interpretations, applications and disagreements. When it comes to making a decision which includes some level of moral judgment, there are a myriad of possibilities, factors and extenuating circumstances which cloud the issue. When it comes to doing what we consider right for ourselves, there are always the mitigating factors and details that need to be sorted through...wait a minute! Does it have to be so confusing? Is what we know to be right that hard to find? Do moral judgments have to be painful and tentative? Is doing what’s right for us THAT important? Stay with us as we look into the world of standards, morality, conscience and social acceptance.

Theme Scripture: Isaiah 33:22
Today is a day unique in America, for history tells us that it was 234 years ago on this day that a group of men gathered in Philadelphia and approved the final draft of a declaration that would dramatically change their lives and eventually change the world. That Declaration of Independence would mark America as a symbol of liberty and freedom across the globe to which people from the farthest corners of the world would line up to be a part of. We want to look at the value of freedom as well as the role that God has played in America.
