Jesus had an amazing way of saying a lot with few words. Jesus had a mission – he spoke about it, lived it and taught its principles. A major part of that mission was to open the way of "sonship" to the Father. Jesus told us he IS the way to the Father and he also IS the Truth. What does that mean? How could he BE the truth? Stay with us as we try and reveal just what he was talking about.
Jesus knew when his time would be up and his sacrifice would be complete. He knew – down to the very hour – he knew. He understood the pain and suffering that awaited, and he also understood the immense difficulty and challenge that would unfold, not only for him but for his followers as well. So, knowing all of this, what did Jesus do to prepare himself to overcome? Where did he go, how did he act and what did he say? Let us see what we can learn about facing death from the greatest life ever lived.
In the worlds of Judaism and Christianity, this is a very special time of year. It is a time when deliverance is celebrated and liberty is proclaimed, for in both faiths events occurred that were both defining and miraculous. For the Jew, the Passover represents the deliverance out of bondage and into a national heritage. For the Christian, the Last Supper and following events represent their deliverance from sin into the liberty of Christ. Is it a coincidence that these two events happen at the same time of year? On this podcast we look into the amazing connection between these events – Palm Sunday and the Lamb, the Passover and the Crucifixion and the deliverance from Egypt and the deliverance from sin.
