I believe it is His breath because when He speaks the Holy spirit moves. Remember Genesis 1 “and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters and God said “Let there be light…”. It is impossible to breathe without emitting breath from the lungs – that is our spirit – our breath and when we die our “…spirit returns to God who gave it.” This is obviated by the words in Genesis 2 pertaining to Adam “…and God breathed into His nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.” He didn’t have a soul separate from his body – he was a soul just as we are all souls and don’t have something inside us that is popularly termed a soul that goes somewhere when we die. We will be raised whole at the resurrection. Reply An interesting thing to note… in every instance of greetings in all Paul’s epistles, he says, “Peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Paul NEVER greets the saints through/by/for the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit were a person and if there were a trinity, I’m sure Paul would have sent greetings from all three. Reply LEAVE YOUR COMMENT Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
