Where in the Bible does it describe “Angels” as having wings!? And no Seraphs and Cherubs are not Angels as nowhere in the Bible does it says they are. Please stop teaching people that they are described as having wings.
Hi, Shane, thank you for taking the time to write. You bring up an interesting point. We know from Nehemiah 9:6 that collectively a group of spirit beings are called “heavenly host.” We see some diversity within the heavenly host in Job 38:4-7, with descriptions of “morning stars” and “sons of God.” Genesis 3:24 shows additional diversity with “cherubim,” and Isaiah 6:1-2 as “seraphim.” (and many other texts.) The Hebrew word “angel” (as used in Genesis 22:10-11, for example) means “to dispatch as a deputy, a messenger specifically of God, ambassadors.” Is this a job description? Meaning, are cherubim dispatched for a specific mission and act as an “angel”? or is an “angel” another separate class of spirit being? The heavenly creation of God is complex and has a hierarchy. We know very little about most of that hierarchy and what life and responsibility in heaven actually looks like. We do know every time an angel appeared in the Bible, God had them perform specific tasks and then leave. They did not hang around to interact unnecessarily with humans. May the Lord continue to bless your studies! – Christian Questions
