Theme Scripture: Matthew 6:27
We all worry and we all get anxious at times. Well, if we are people of faith – I mean if we are really people of real faith - then shouldn’t that faith override our worry? The answer is that in an ideal situation, yes, faith always wins. Unfortunately, the vast majority of us have not developed our faith that fully…yet! (Sigh!) The good news is Jesus knew this ahead of time and taught us how to cope with worry and anxiety! Stay with us – the “worry doctor” is in and his name is Jesus!
For encouragement, God gave each believer a spiritual gift. The greatest function of these gifts is to keep the certainty of our welcome and favor of God alive . We are asked to come boldly to the throne of grace so that we will not suffer an identity crisis; thinking poorly of ourselves by our conduct. In our weakness God is shown at his strongest. When a new creature—believer—sins it it a charade and a pretense, for he was created new unto good works. The innermost person of the believer is holy.
