Defining true forgiveness

Forgive and forget. It is a saying that has been around for a VERY long time. Many of us have probably uttered those words at one time or another, while dealing with the hurt and results of misunderstandings or angry words or actions. To forgive is to not hold someone accountable for something, to forget, well that is a different story, for it requires us to truly not hold them accountable in the future as well. God is a forgiving God. Jesus came to forgive sins. How do we do in following these examples in our daily lives? When we forgive, do we forget?
