Everybody makes promises. Everybody has experiences where they make a commitment of some kind to another, to do something on their behalf. A number of things can happen as a result of this: We can fulfill our promise entirely or partially. We can decide not to fulfill it. We can not fulfill it because of external circumstances. So, how important is a promise? Should “our word be our bond?” What about God’s promises? Does He ALWAYS keep them? How would we know?
