Sometimes we as Christians just don’t see eye to eye. We all (hopefully) take the doctrine of Christ seriously and want to abide by the word of God, so when we come to a subject that is widely interpreted, we have a dilemma. The concept of a Hell of Torment is one such topic. There are many views on the matter but today we want to look at it through the eyes of history to see if we can find the threads of truth and separate them from the threads of error. Five weeks ago we began a discussion on the highly controversial topic of hellfire and the Bible and whether or not these two belong together. We based that conversation on a 2012 documentary entitled “Hellbound?” written and produced by Kevin Miller. Kevin joined us for that discussion as we mainly focused on the Old Testament and non-biblical history. Well, Kevin is back with us for this follow-up as we reopen the book on hell and the very piercing question – are most people hellbound?
Christianity is amazingly fractured in its belief about what happens to the vast majority of mankind. Do unbelievers suffer in merciless agony for all of eternity in the fires of hell? Is there a purifying fire that brings them to Christ? Do unbelievers simply cease to exist?

Death and taxes - two sure things in life. Interestingly, we have little control over either. Seeing that this is not a financial program, we won’t talk about taxes - but we will talk about death. Great! What a depressing topic! What is death all about anyway? Do we immediately go somewhere when we die – meaning we actually don’t die, we just change form?
