Am I Immortal?

Life is a precious, miraculous gift from God. Having life is a sacred charge to live fully, cleanly and in a God-honoring fashion. So, what happens when we die? Does our soul immediately go off somewhere else and continue an unending cycle of life – or do we die – literally get our lights clicked off until a time of resurrection? For most Christians, there has been for centuries, a very clearly stated answer to this question of the events after death. But, what if...? What if there was biblical evidence pointing to a different answer? Stay with us as we look into this challenging, emotional and controversial subject!

What About Suicide?

We all know someone who knows someone who has committed suicide. It is unfortunate to say that death by suicide is and always has been a fixed part of the human experience. What causes suicide? What leads someone to such a drastic act and can we help them? Is it an unforgivable sin or did Jesus' sacrifice address even this? Can One Who Dies an Unbeliever Still be Saved?

Salvation – it is at the very core of Christian faith. Salvation is something we all want and something that we as Christians all claim. That’s good...for us. Now the harder part. What about unbelievers? Where do they fit? Do all unbelievers have the same opportunity as we do? What about those who never heard of Jesus and died in that ignorance? How Do We Cope with Personal Loss?

Death is a scourge upon us all. It is the unwelcome intruder in our lives, the greedy associate, the uncaring and undiscriminating presence that is uninvited, unwanted and always inconvenient. Death is the rude interrupter of our lives. What’s worse, it leaves a mark when it has passed through. After it leaves, we are left empty, sad, mournful and distressed. This unwelcome guest – death – it visits all of us, no matter what our station is in life. If we are poor, wealthy, popular, unnoticed, young or old, we all have experience with death. So, how do we deal with it? How do we cope with the pain and the loss? Stay with us this morning as we examine this sad and difficult reality of our lives – death, loss and the healing process.

How did Jesus Prepare?

What would you do? What would you do if you knew you only had one week to live? How would you act? Where would you go? Who would you see? What would you say? Obviously this is a difficult question – one that most of us are never faced with. Well, two thousand years ago Jesus was in such a position, for he knew when his time would come and he knew what he had to do. Come with us as we follow some of his experiences in those last days. Let us see what we can learn about facing death from the greatest life ever lived.

Can There be “Good Grief?”

Everyone has experienced loss in their life. Some have experienced far more than others and have had to learn to cope. In any event, loss – tragic loss especially - brings grief and grief brings a sense of facing overwhelming odds. So, how do we deal with grief? How do we cope with loss? How do we adjust to never getting to say goodbye? Are there things we should or should not do? What about helping our friends cope with grief? What should we do or say? Stay with us as we look into grief and try and find ways to not only cope, but make our grief “good” grief.

Are the Human Soul and Spirit the Same?

To a large degree, human beings are somewhat of a mystery. It is amazing how much we know about our form of life and it is even more amazing how little we know about it. What about the human soul and the human spirit? What are they? Can they die? Can you have one without the other? What about the body? Where does that fit in? Does a soul need a body? Does a body need a soul? Stay with us as we look into the scriptural definitions of these things to try and find the answers. For such an old book, written over such a long period of time by so many different writers, it will amaze you how clear the answers are to these questions!

Is Death the Beginning or the End?

Death and taxes - two sure things in life.  Interestingly, we have little control over either.  Seeing that this is not a financial program, we won’t talk about taxes - but we will talk about death.  Great!  What a depressing topic!  What is death all about anyway?  Do we immediately go somewhere when we die – meaning we actually don’t die, we just change form?  Or do we die, cease to exist, when we expire?  On this podcast we look at a topic that surely affects us all to determine what the Bible teaches on the subject.  Is death the beginning or the end?  Lets’ see…
