Life is difficult – it is full of trials, tragedies and trauma. Sometimes it overflows with grief and pain. For most of us, there is an ebb and flow to all of this and we work at coping with and learning from these difficulties. For others however, the pressure of the pain and grief never seem to relent and they begin to despair of life itself. Sadly, some bring that despair to its fruition and end their own lives. Suicide – it is a serious issue that plagues humanity. What drives people to this final decision? How can we better understand it to help those in need? Does God forgive suicide?

Why Do We Celebrate Death and Witchcraft?

The time has come. The time when candy becomes a dietary staple, kids stay up and are out late running throughout neighborhoods collecting candy, disguised as anything from Ninja Turtles, to Frankenstein to princesses to monsters to political figures, ghosts and aliens. If you are a kid, it is pure fun. But the older you get, the darker the source of the fun. At some point for many, this fun now takes on stories of death, darkness and devilry. How Do We Cope with Personal Loss?

Death is a scourge upon us all. It is the unwelcome intruder in our lives, the greedy associate, the uncaring and undiscriminating presence that is uninvited, unwanted and always inconvenient. Death is the rude interrupter of our lives. What’s worse, it leaves a mark when it has passed through. After it leaves, we are left empty, sad, mournful and distressed. This unwelcome guest – death – it visits all of us, no matter what our station is in life. If we are poor, wealthy, popular, unnoticed, young or old, we all have experience with death.
