Do Our Bad Habits Control Us?

Did you ever stop to think how much of our lives are built around our habits? The words we use, the thoughts we think – driven by habit. Our morning routine...a habit. The time we arrive at work...habit. Our actions and reactions to our co-workers...habit. What we eat, where we eat, how much we eat...all connected to habit. How we treat our spouse, our family, our friends and acquaintances – you guessed it – all connected to habit. So, if such a large portion of our lives are based in habit, then we ought to understand what makes a habit and most importantly how to better our habits!

Does Your Paradigm Need Shifting?

Stay with us as we talk about our thinking - how it works and how to elevate it to a higher spiritual level!

What’s MY Role?

Each and every day of our lives, we are all involved in a wide variety of (hopefully) working relationships with others. For everyone we come in contact with, there is a pattern of behavior that is displayed by both parties that reflects what the relationship is that exists between them. For the most part, this pattern of behavior is not ever given much thought, rather it is practiced based on habit or our present emotional state – which brings us to our question: What should our role be in various relationships? Are there sound guidelines that transcend etiquette and culture? Stay with us as we look into the Bible and try to figure out some details on how to best get along with the world around us!

How Do You Build a Fruitful Life?

Here we are, once again approaching the end of one year and the inauguration of another. We often look back at this time and reflect on what has happened, and we also look forward in anticipation of what will happen. Many people make resolutions with the idea of bettering themselves and their situation. On this program, while we are not making resolutions, we are going to be talking about building better, more fruitful lives. How do we do this? Where do we start? Well, while this program will NOT be a motivational seminar, it will hopefully help to shed some light on the process of building a more fruitful life, so stay with us!

What Fruit Does Your Spirit Yield? (Part II)

It is a common practice to look at peoples lives and see the fruit of their labors. Often times we will not want to follow someone’s lead until we have seen proof of their leadership, or we will not want to implement a process until we see that it has been fruitful before. Now, what about the fruit of our spirit – our influence? Do we ever look at and assess its impact? The Bible tells us what the fruit of God’s influence is – the question we want to ask is this; is the fruit of our spirit growing toward the fruit of God’s spirit? Stay with us this morning as we look at the fruit of our influence – is it ripe and ready or is it rotten and repulsive?

What Voices Do YOU Listen To?

We all hear voices - every one of us. Sometimes the voice is our own voice of conscience. Other times it is the voice of experience, or the voice of reason or the voice of compassion. Still other times, we may hear the voice of rationalization, or the voice of peer pressure or the voice of apathy. We may also hear the voice of temptation, or the voice of foolishness or the voice of self-gratification. While these voices may not be audible, they are clearly understandable and we are daily faced with the challenge of deciding what voices to follow and which to avoid. What about the voice of godliness? Can we learn to tune in to that voice? Stay with us as we sift through the voices in our lives and figure out how to tune in to those voices that would be most beneficial.

What Makes a Person “Good?”

People say it all the time: ʺYeah, I know him; he’s a good person.ʺ A good person – what does that mean? Good at what? Good for what? Good as opposed to what? So, what makes a person good? Does one have to be religious or conservative or liberal to be good? Does one have to be honest? How about educated? Can you have a big ego and be a good person? Stay with us as we take some time and look into this seemingly over simplified topic– goodness in people. What makes it so?
