Is the Price of Christianity Too High?

What does it mean to be a Christian? Seriously, what is the real bottom line true meaning of following in the footsteps of Jesus? Is being a Christian like an entitlement program? By professing Jesus do we receive protection from evil, deliverance from trials or the healing of our maladies? Do we receive a promise of an abundant and prosperous life? Or, is being a Christian more like a “getting whipped into shape” work and endurance program where we lose our own will, learn to do without and have to somehow rejoice in tribulation every day of our difficult lives? Is the price of true Christianity a simple acknowledgment of Jesus being in your life or is it a “sell all that we have and change what we are” mentality? What DOES it cost to be a true Christian? Is it a price we are willing to pay?

Why Aren’t You a Wealthy Christian?

So, Do You Think You’re Holy?

Did you ever stop and wonder what Christianity, in its truest sense, looks like? Is Christianity about getting or giving? Is it about living just like everyone else, or is it about living to a higher standard? Is it about the incessant chatter of everyday life or is it about a life-changing message? Is Christianity about learning to accept yourself as you are, or is it about offering who you are to God to become what he wants you to be? These are questions that can be answered if we understand how holiness fits into the picture. Stay with us as we look at our Christianity and what role "holiness" plays in it.

Do Money and the Gospel Belong Together?

Money – the Apostle Paul says the love of it is the root of all evil, yet we cannot survive without money. Furthermore, we cannot spread the good news of the Gospel without money. So what do we do about it? What are the responsibilities of the true church towards money? Should there be formal tithes collected or should such giving be left to the discretion of each who gives? Does the individual Christian have a monthly bill that he or she owes to God? How much giving is enough? Stay with us as we look into one of those subjects that everyone has an opinion on – $$$$money$$$$ – where does it fit in relation to the Gospel?

How do You Invest Your Christianity?

What’s this? A parable about Jesus giving us money? What is that, you say? TWO parables about Jesus giving us money? Hmmm, how MUCH money? So, what are we supposed to do with this money? Hold up – hold on – hold the phone! That is NOT what these parables are about...not even close! They ARE about something of value and they ARE about investing. The something of value is our lives being invested in the service of Christ. So, if you are a Christian and you want to get a clear picture of what this life of yours is supposed to be about, then this program is for you. If you are NOT a Christian, then this program is for you as it will (hopefully) give you perspective on what a Christian life is supposed to look like. In any case, stick around as we discuss what it means to create value through the life of a Christian.

Do Dollars Make Sense?

Money, money, money! We live in a world that requires it, we work in an environment that compensates us with it and we live in a society that constantly pushes us to have more of it. Money, in many ways it drives our world – the question is, should it drive our religious world? On this program we look at the biblical practice of tithing – the act of giving one tenth of your increase and see if we can determine what governs this act, who does the giving and who is on the receiving end. Churches need money to survive. The question; is tithing the proper scriptural way to bring that money in?
