Theme Scripture: Romans 11:25-27

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's anti-Semitic and anti-Israel views surely position him and the country of Iran among the foremost threats to the state of Israel. With war drums beating in the Middle East, thoughtful students of Bible prophecy wonder how the Bible's predictions of end-time events will play out. Scripture does indeed speak loudly and in detail about the near future for Israel, its neighbors, and the whole world as we approach the revelation of Christ and the inauguration of the kingdom of God on earth. Through the smoke of war and conflict of war on the horizon will come an era of peace and security for ALL mankind such as the world has never known. How will the current enemies of Israel be converted into friends? We will explore this today!

I found today’s program very enlightening and agree with much of the scenario you point to using scripture.
My question is…Is Christ present on his throne at the time Gog and his fellow armies come against the land that is peace. The scripture suggests a “hook” being used by GOD to bring them against the land.

    Your program is the best!
    Thanks,
    Joe

Hi Joe! Thanks much for your question.

We agree with you that Jesus will be present on his throne at the time of Gog invasion. We have a clear statement in scripture that Jesus’ return would be associated with the restitution of all things.

Acts 19:21 – “Whom the heaven must receive (retain) until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.”

With Israel being restored to their land, restitution is well underway by the time of Gog’s invasion and our returned Lord will insure the full restitution of Israel in fulfillment of the promises God’s gave to their forefathers.

We also believe that the CHURCH will be in glory with Jesus at that same time. We have a couple of promises that assure this:

Rom. 16:20 – “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”

Dealing with “Gog,” a metaphor for the leading evil influence – Satan himself, will be the “bruising” action in which the church participates.

Ps .149:7-9 – “To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.”

We did not have time to discuss the hook on the program, but a hook is used to draw and capture. So we believe that divine providence will permit the tempting scenario to develop that will make the prideful, greedy and selfish hearts of the aggressor nations compelled to come down for a spoil under the influence of Satan. What will that spoil be? We suspect that the economy of Israel will soar after the military threat from her hateful neighbors has been removed. They have great mineral resources in the Dead Sea area and will no doubt lead the world in other technologies. The situation will be very much like Pharaoh in Egypt over three thousand years ago who couldn’t control his evil heart in overstepping the limits of God’s patience.

King Jesus and his church will deal with this through the resurrection heroes of old. What a time of astonishment that will be. For God’s mighty power will be seen in ways that it has not since Bible times.

Of course, as we said, the full end result will be not only the miraculous deliverance of Israel as their blindness is removed and they come to see Christ, but also the beginning of the Millennial Kingdom when all mankind will experience that same deliverance.

Rom. 8:21 – “Because the creature (creation) itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.”

Thanks for your explanation. I too feel Christ will be on His throne before Gog’s invasion.

Does the event in Psalms 83 include mostly Arabs, such as descentents of Ishmael and Esau. What are your thoughts on Abrahams complete offspring becoming reconciled as into one family.

Also, the two sticks Ezekiel describes. Joseph (Ephraim) and Judah. Could this be God recovering the 10 lost tribes that were DIVORCED and scattered by Assyria.
“Where it was said they are not my people they shall be called the Sons of God”–could this be possible through Paul’s Gospel of Grace?

        I would appreciate your thoughts.

        Thanks,
        Joe

Hi Joe! Thanks for your follow up question!

Your observation about the ethnicity of the participants in Psalm 83 is right on. It is almost an entirely Arab group and, as such, descendents of Shem through Ishmael and Esau. Truly they are ‘cousins’ to Israel. While they do no have the special promises that Jehovah gave to Abraham and his descendents, they are, nevertheless, to be blessing with the reconciliation that will come to the whole world through Christ.

“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” – Col. 1:20
“That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:” – Eph. 1:10

The two sticks of Ezekiel 37 are part of the chapter that contains the dry bones prophecy. This entire chapter is about the regathering of ALL of the fleshly seed of Abraham together in the last days. And we have seen much of that prophecy already at work in the presence of the Jewish people in the Promised Land.

As you noted, Paul quotes the prophecy in Hosea in Romans chapter 9 specifically to show that God will bring both the Jews and the Gentiles together as his children in the Kingdom. “Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God” – Rom. 9:24-26.

We apply this first and foremost to the gathering of the Church of Christ during the Gospel Age. At Pentecost, the church consisted only of those coming from the people of Israel. But with the conversion of Cornelius, the heavenly call went out to Gentiles and the body of Christ is now a unity of Jew and Gentile. But this oneness precedes the intention to do the same thing with the world of mankind who God loves (John 3:16). And it will be to the Jew first and then the entire Gentile world.

Interestingly, this uniting of Jew and Gentiles requires that the Gentile world must come into Israel to gain the blessing! “Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.” – Zech 8:23
“One shall say, I am the LORD’S; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.” – Is 44:5

What a final reconciliation to God that will be!!

My sister listens to John Hagee a lot and she was telling me that the reason our weather and other things in this country have become so much worse is because the United States is under judgement from God because of all of it’s sins and drifting from our christian foundation . Do you guys think that is what is happening ,with your knowledge of the bible? Thank You

Dear Friend, thank you very much for your question. There is no doubt that the US, as well as all nations, are guilty of great sin and worthy of judgment. And we know from Scripture that God will indeed execute judgement upon the nations for their refusal to seek righteousness. 2 Pet. 3:10; Zeph. 1:7-9, 14-18. Whether the current weather patterns reflect this or not, would be hard to definitely say. Australia just endured a blisteringly brutal heat wave, so this isn’t affecting the US only. Greece just had a terrible earthquake, and there was a volcanic eruption in the Indonesian islands. We do know that God has been permitting evil and disaster upon this world for the past 6,000 years to allow men to learn the exceeding sinfulness of sin and to allow them both to learn how much they need God and how little effect their own methods and plans have toward the earth’s betterment. In addition, we also know that we are in the last days when a great time of trouble will be upon the earth such as never was since there was a nation. Dan. 12:1-4 and 2 Tim. 3:1-5. In addition, God has warned that not supporting the nation of Israel would bring judgment upon the nations. Amos 3:2. Yet, we are also forewarned that “all her lovers shall have forgotten her”, Jer. 30:14 and Jer.31:31-35, and this will bring His further wrath, Zech. 14:3. (The entire context of these verses needs to be addressed.) Yet, all this trouble is just the work of preparation for the blessing of all mankind, once the pride of nationalism and corruption have been swept away. Zeph. 3:8, 9, and Acts 3:19-21. Also, Isa. 2:1-4. God’s mercy in passing judgment upon the nations has a noble purpose: the education of mankind to prepare their hearts for the outpouring of His spirit upon all flesh.
